THE AIM OF THIS GARMENT DESIGN IS TO HIGHLIGHT HOW WOMEN SHOULD EMBRACE THEIR PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND THEIR SEXUALITY TO BECOME THEIR STRENGTH.

THE MUSE IS THE PERFORMANCE ARTIST MARINA ABRAMOVIC AS SHE IS SHOCKING AND NEW. SHE EMBODIES THE EXPLORATORY KIND OF WOMAN THAT THIS GARMENTS WOULD BE WORN BY. THE DRESS ILLUSTRATES HOW SHE SEES THE HUMAN BODY AS A PLACE FOR ART ESPECIALLY INVOLVING THE DELICATE AND FRAGILE PARTS OF A WOMAN’S BODY.

THIS COLLECTION IS ALSO INFLUENCED BY THE CUBIST ART MOVEMENT AND AFRICAN TRIBES SPECIFICALLY THE MURSI TRIBE. IN CUBIST ART, AN OBJECT IS VIEWED IN DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES AND THEREFORE THE GARMENT HAS ASPECTS WHICH GO THROUGH DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE GARMENT.

THE MURSI TRIBE SEES MASCULINITY AND BEING ABLE TO FIGHT AS DESIRABLE ASPECTS IN A WOMAN. THIS CONNECTS TO ABRAMOVIC AND HOW A WOMAN PLACES HER FRAGILE BODY FOR THE PURPOSE OF BECOMING STRONGER
